This booklet is the first Polish presentation of musha-e, an important woodblock print genre, though somewhat overshadowed by ukiyo-e (the synonym of Japanese culture and art since the 2nd half of the 19th century). Those were images of warriors and combat scenes, striking through their dynamism, moving and beautiful. They showed the fascinating samurai tradition: what it was, how it was represented and how it reflected on the ukiyo world.
