BIOGRAPHIES

Dr. René Staritzbichler - defended a Ph.D. in physics and philosophy at the Max Planck Institute in Frankfurt am Main. He is involved in the development of computational methods at the intersection of physics, biology and medicine, as well as the quantum field theory, the construction of viral proteins, genetic sequencing and research on the brain and neurotransmitters. With a group of scientists from Leipzig University he does research on immunotherapy.   Dr Joan Paul Pozuelos - defended a Ph.D. in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Experimental Psychology and Behavioural Physiology at the University of Granada, where he currently works. He is involved in research in the field of experimental, educational and cognitive psychology, and in particular in the use of neuroscience in the social, emotional and cognitive development of children and adolescents.   Petra Foerster and Krzysztof Barański - sculptors, from 2007 they maintain the traditional art of manufacturing Buddhist statues at the Buddhist Institute for Tibetan Art (BINTA) in Brunswick (www.diamondway-artgroup.org) . Marcin Barański - Marcin Baranski took refuge with Lama Ole Nydahl in 1993 and at his request began giving lectures in 2001. He is a vice president of Diamond Way Buddhist Association of Karma Kagyu Lineage in Poland. He has a degree from Warsaw University of Technology and works in telecom.   Dr. Grzegorz Kuśnierz - completed a Ph.D. programme at the University of Gdańsk. He is also a graduate of English Philology at the University of Opole. He studied at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute in New Delhi, India and at the International Institute of Asian and Tibetan Studies in Spain. In 2004 he initiated the creation of the Students Association of Oriental Studies at the University of Opole, which organises events connected with culture, science and religions of the East. From 2007 he teaches the basics of Buddhism in Poland and in Europe. He lives in London together with his wife. He works as a teacher and translator.
